Calculators that show their working

Most weight-loss calculators return a confident number and hide the model. These do the opposite. Every coefficient traces to a published effect size, every assumption is on the page, and where the evidence runs out they say so instead of extrapolating quietly.

A shared engine. Both tools run on the same model, at /assets/engine.js?v=ecef805b. Intervention effect sizes are generated from the site’s research files rather than typed in by hand, so a number on a page and a number in a calculator cannot drift apart.
These are estimation tools for education. They do not know your medical history and they are not a substitute for a clinician. If you have a history of disordered eating, tools like these are worth skipping.
